Let's choose a more relevant Saint to represent England. One that doesn't need the blessing of the kiddie fiddlers in Rome. I'll start the bidding...St Anthony Wilson of Whitworth Street.
St George...his parents were Greek and he was in the Roman Army. There's no evidence he ever visited England. The dragon is probably a crocodile and is based on another Greek myth. His shrine is in Beirut and is still worshipped at by Muslims. He is also patron saint of Portugal and Malta.

Anyway, my cleaner has arrived so I'm off up to the ramparts to finish this jug of mead and to fling a few balls of molten lead at the villagers. There's a banquet tonight and I'm doing peacock-in-a-basket followed by wild boar burgers. Good job I had a bath last year because I hear the crusades are completed and the knights are returning *lifts doormat looking for chastity belt key*.
