55 minutes door to door this morning on my bicycle. In lovely sunshine too (though I still need my wooly gloves in the early morning). Most mornings I say hello to the swans on the river Lea near Springfield Marina as I whizz past. Today, immediately after my greeting, three of them skittered to their feet and ran full pelt on the water alongside me until they took off and soared above. Their wings made a great whooshing sound as they slowly flapped and rose into the air and I shouted "see you tomorrow" as they banked to the left and headed for the reservoirs. It was just like a movie moment and I had a bit of a lump in my throat at the perfectness of it all.
